Whether your child is putting on a tallit, chanting their parashah, reading from the Torah, or leading parts of the Shabbat morning service, I’m there to document each moment with care and connection. My photography style blends editorial polish with documentary honesty, so your final gallery feels both refined and deeply personal.
We usually begin with portraits about 90 minutes before the service. I like to start with bimah portraits: your child holding the Torah, practicing tefilot, or opening the aron kodesh. Then we shift into more relaxed, personality-driven portraits. Family photos follow, combining traditional groupings with candid, heartfelt interactions.
Depending on the temple or officiant's guidelines, the ceremony may be photographed in full, including aliyot, blessings, Torah reading, and meaningful moments shared between your child, the clergy, and your family. If photography isn’t permitted during the actual service, we can schedule a weekday session to document these traditions in advance.
After the service, the celebration begins. Whether you're hosting a daytime luncheon or an evening party in one of the Four Seasons' stunning event spaces, I’ll be there to capture it all. From the hora and grandparent hugs to Coke and Pepsi games, candle lighting, and a packed dance floor, I focus on the energy in the room and the expressions on everyone’s faces. These are the memories your child will treasure.
If you’re planning to create invitations, party decor, or a slideshow, I also offer pre-mitzvah portrait sessions. These sessions are a great way to feature your child’s personality, whether that means a beach session in Santa Monica, a stylish downtown LA shoot, or a casual session at home. I love helping families make these sessions feel both fun and meaningful.
